Your recipe looks more interesting than the rest I've seen on line. I'm going to try and make this for Christmas. We were craving for this ever since our vacation last August '10 in Eastwood, QC. Every night we would go to the second floor at the Eastwood mall (Grace's) and have this wonderful Sans Rival and coffee, yum!!!. Iba na talaga dyan sa atin from the last time ako nandyan 1984 pa. Our restaurants are so classy and the food is really delicious. My favorite restaurant is Osonho-their peri-peri chicken is to die for, I can eat it everyday! Oops talking too much already, I miss home lalo na when it's Christmas. We watch TFC lang everyday and see all of the stores there with all the decorations kakaingit kayo dyan. Thanks for the recipe and I'll let you know of the outcome. I still have to buy those baking sheets. Bye and Merry Christmas...

Filipino recipes fruits are rare, especially those about cashew nuts. They are usually herb based. But today in many western restaurants, you have recipes such as thee been served. I tend to separate Filipino recipes from mainstream Asian or oriental because they tend to look more western except that the condiments are usually home made instead of been commercial.

I have been looking for a good sans rival. One of my readers, who is a retired pastry chef, pointed to me a good buttercream recipe (same procedure as yours), and told me about the meringue, but he did not give me the recipe (he could not find his).

I will make this some time, using almond, and probably not using pandan. I will probably stick to almond flavor (so I will use almond extract instead).

Please tell your sister thanks for the recipe!
